The Practice of Surrender: An evening of breathwork to release, reset and return
⏱️ Sunday 22nd November · 5:30-7pm ·
📍 Lana & Friends studio, N16 [map link]

This month, we’re dialling in on what breathwork is all about for me - the opportunity to release: some of the tension, conditioning, or maybe unnecessary extra responsibility we have been holding. As humans, we are incredibly good at trying to manage and control, in a world of chaos an uncertainty, which can get pretty tiring and heavy.
This is time for you to surrender some of that weight, and reclaim some spaciousness for your body and mind.
No experience needed, just an little bit of curiosity!
What to Expect
-
A warm welcome into the space, an opportunity to tune into your body and enter into the experience with intentionality
-
We will use a short breathing practice/ pranayama technique to centre the body - a tool that you can take with you back into your day to day as a practical regulation tool
-
You will be expertly led into a ~45 minute conscious connected breathwork journey, supported by carefully curated music, with optional acupressure to help relieve tension and facilitate the breath to move freely.
-
The ‘landing’ or grounding phase of the journey is always prioritised, so that you are ready to go back out into the world without a sense of rush. We will use a grounding technique or two, and have time to share experiences among the group for those who feel like it.
WHO IT’S FOR…
Anyone who feels tense, overstretched or simply curious…
Whether you’re new to breathwork or have practised for years, you’re welcome.
You don’t need to be spiritual, flexible or “good at relaxing”.
Your facilitator ~
Emily is a breathwork and mindfulness facilitator with an academic background (PhD in Clinical Psychology; MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience).
Holding space with clarity and compassion, she grounds the scientific wisdom while creating space for the deeper, more ineffable parts of the experience.

Your Questions, Answered-
That’s great - no experience needed. You’re guided through every step, and the techniques used are simple despite having the potential to be profound.
-
Both are absolutely normal, and there’s nothing to get ‘right’ in this space. It’s about allowing whatever wants to be felt or seen, without a goal or ideal in mind.
Note, there’s no pressure to share or explain anything afterwards.
-
Breathwork can be incredibly supportive for people in different situations. That said, if you are unsure, please feel free to reach out and we can discuss whether a group session feels like the most helpful thing. There is always the option to work 1-2-1 if that feels like the most nourishing option a the moment.
-
There are some contraindications to the main conscious connected breathwork practice (including pregnancy). Please reach out if you are unsure about whether this would be right for you - I’ll be happy to talk it through.
-
Mats and blankets will be provided. Bring a water bottle, and a notepad/ journal if you like.
You might like to wear layers to account for any temperature changes you might feel during the breathe.
-
The group class cancellation policy is 12 hours. Cancellations made with less than 12 hours notice will result in the loss of your booking fee.
Early cancellation (up to 12 hours before class) will put the class fee back into your account. It may also be possible to transfer your booking to a next available session if there is availability.
